Name change

Hi all,
Recently I received feedback from my coach that we should consider a name change for our Facebook Group to something more descriptive about what the group is for, it's purpose. After some excellent feedback from the group we've changed it to "RAISING AMAZING FAMILIES". We also added the tag line "power parenting for the 21st century!"
We therefore needed to change the blog name for consistency.

Monday 10 February  was a momentous occasion. After 7+ months of treatment for breast cancer my beautiful wife is DONE! She has been simply amazing at dealing with one of life’s major challenges. Not only did she smash it out of the park, standing on her own two feet, supporting her family and staying positive all the way - she supported others going through a similar challenge. I’m no medical expert, so take this with a grain o f salt, but if there’s one piece of advice I could give to someone diagnosed with cancer it’s to BE POSITIVE. Have belief that you are capable and powerful and ready to take this battle on - head-on. That’s how I saw Mel m anage it, like a true champion. God bless ya babe. You smashed it!

Story on ABC: Brisbane car fire killer stalked wife Hannah Clarke and used 'scary' controlling tactics before final evil act

I don't know where to begin with this story. It's horrific - and that's an understatement. I can't begin to imagine what Hannah and her three kids were going through in those final moments before they succumbed to the fatal torture inflicted upon them. Domestic violence is an epidemic in our society that doesn't appear to be reducing in fatal incidents. I don't have the stats handy but it feels like its not getting any better! I was close to a case that occurred with a female mining operator who worked at Cannington when I was the mine manager. The short story is that her ex-boyfriend killed her in a fit of rage after a photo taken from Facebook was sent to him by a mate, of her at the local races with her new boyfriend. Losing a family pet - a tribute to Glitter

It’s no surprise that the night before we are due to give her up to her new home that the weather is different. It’s raining with hints of thunder. Like this night, Glitter, our family cat, is different. She is no ordinary cat. For us, she’s like another family member. She’s kind, affectionate, empathetic and most of all - she has a soul. You can feel it in her. She understands what’s going on around her. Mel and I are convinced of this. Tonight in particular. It’s like she’s fully aware that tonight is her last night in our family home. Our last night together. Even writing this makes my heart sink, my breath short. I have tears rolling down my cheeks. It feels like we’re making the wrong decision, but I know in my heart of hearts that it’s the right decision.
