A reason to celebrate!

Monday 10 February  was a momentous occasion. After 7+ months of treatment for breast cancer my beautiful wife is DONE! She has been simply amazing at dealing with one of life’s major challenges. Not only did she smash it out of the park, standing on her own two feet, supporting her family and staying positive all the way - she supported others going through a similar challenge. I’m no medical expert, so take this with a grain o f salt, but if there’s one piece of advice I could give to someone diagnosed with cancer it’s to BE POSITIVE. Have belief that you are capable and powerful and ready to take this battle on - head-on. That’s how I saw Mel m anage it, like a true champion. God bless ya babe. You smashed it!

The grieving process

When a family loses someone close they will either individually, or collectively, or both, go through the grieving process. The loss tears at their very souls and creates a void where that someone once was. They can feel a deep level of sadness, which if left unchecked can lead to anxiety and depression. How long they suffer and how quickly they recover depends on a multitude of factors. Two key factors include how well adjusted they are as individuals and how well connected they are as a family. As previously communicated we re-housed our family cat, Glitter. And as communicated we did this as we’re about to move to the US and felt that it was best for her to leave her in Townsville with another family. As tough as this decision was, it really was the only decision in our minds. The night before had been unusual. It was raining with a hint of thunder. Our plan

We will develop our Blog ( https://lessonsforourfamily.blogspot.com/ ) as well as create podcasts and vlogs. If we feel daring we may even do the odd FB Live! Eventually we'd like to write and publish a book as a gift to our kids. The key themes will be: Honesty Integrity Being authentic Respect Being coachable Grit/resilience Being curious Playing full-out Get into action Be productive Be effective Mastering your most valuable commodity - TIME! So stay tuned as we develop over the coming weeks and months. Please provide us with feedback and ideas. And one request, please be patient.
